Ziwei Zhang

Post-Doctoral Scientist

Ziwei received her B.S. in Neuroscience and B.A. in Psychology from Duke University. She completed her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Chicago. Her research focuses on how prediction violations, or surprise, are signaled and computed across different contexts. She uses behavioral paradigms and neuroimaging methods to study surprise and computational models to probe its mechanisms. In the DAN Lab, Ziwei is interested in how internal models about others' behavior and our own affective responses are built, updated, and used to generate predictions in the mind and brain across the lifespan.
